Le Dernier Métro is an association of ESSEC Business School, created in 2016 by students. Its goal is to make the best Parisian spots accessible and well-known to students of the school, whose campus is located in Cergy (95).
However, over the years, the association has become much more than just a student guide: it has developed, expanded, and gained popularity. It is very proud to launch its first website in 2024, eight years after its creation, making all its recommended spots accessible to everyone!
A word from Vincenzo Esposito Vinzi, dean and president of ESSEC
I remember very well the end of 2006, when I left Capri to come to ESSEC. I crossed all of Italy and then all of France, passing through many regions famous for their gastronomy. And then I arrived in Cergy. For the international professor that I was, who did not yet master French, the shock was not only cultural, but also culinary. At the time I would have liked to be able to count on Le Dernier Métro’s guide to guide me in my first steps and save me from many risky culinary experiments! I can only rejoice that for the first time this guide includes addresses in Cergy, and that it is also published in English to allow our entire student community to live an experience that is not only excellent and enriching from an academic point of view but also from a gastronomic point of view. There are about a thousand proverbs and sayings in Italy that refer to the pleasure of good food, and if possible when it’s not expensive. As this guide is intended for both night owls and epicureans, let’s keep in mind that “chi ben cena, ben dorme” (who dines well, sleeps well).
Happy reading, and have great outings!
