“Lombem, for a good burger. Here we are with Blanche, new purchases in the bag and death in our souls because yes, the winter blues are already here (even though it’s still autumn). How can we console ourselves? More shopping? No, the stores are closed. A swingers club? Not really Blanche’s cup of tea… How about a nice burger?
Without missing a beat, Blanche takes me to the dark corners of the boulevards, ending up at Lombem’s in Passage des Panoramas. Lombem is the kind of restaurant we love: a simple menu, a few dishes and desserts, and a clear concept. Here, we eat meat cooked over a wood fire. In our quest for comfort, we both go for the burger. And we weren’t disappointed.
When this big burger with a thick steak arrives all covered with cheddar cheese and small farmhouse fries, I say to myself: firstly, something at least got covered tonight, secondly, I’m going to bust a gut, and thirdly, it’s never going to fit all the way in because the portions are so generous. If you’ve got room for dessert, the tatin is pretty good, but we really recommend the chocolate mousse, which looks exquisite and, once again, generously served.
So if you’re depressed too, if you need comfort too, or if you just want a good piece of quality meat cooked over a wood fire, then go for Lombem.”
